"George McClure's Americana is comprised of a healthy dose of Western
Swing Revival and Instrumental Country. Although he hails from Nashville,
McClure doesn't let the city's plastic sound seep into his warm and twangy
songs." [Listen.lycos.com]
Phreaktones[tm] performances are visually appealing and hi-energy.
Establishing a special rapport
with the audience (sometimes with extemporaneous comedy) and singing and playing with conviction and soul are
trademarks of McClure shows. Layered harmonies and tight rhythmic
intensity are de rigueur.
the Phreaktones[tm] (la Frontera) appear as up to a ten-piece act with
background vocalists, horns, steel guitar, and fiddle on top of a rhythm
section providing the sophistication of Latin and swing jazz with the hard drive of
country rock and bluegrass. The group is
based in Nashville, Tennessee. 1999-2000 saw McClure tours to Houston, San Antonio,
Tampa, Maryland, and shows throughout the Southeast. He logged 180 performances in 26 states during 1996.
George & the Phreaktones[tm], with a Fan Club in the thousands, is rapidly expanding their national and international following. Catch their latest show!
